Yokohama Rubber Posts English "Environmental and Social Report 2007" on its Website
Tokyo - The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today announced that the company came out with an English version of its "Environmental and Social Report 2007". The PDF file was posted on Yokohama Rubber’s website on November 30, 2007. In 2000, the company began issuing an annual report on its environmental and social activities and created this year an English version of the report for the first time. It can be viewed at a URL: http://www.yrc-pressroom. jp/env_en.

The website shows the English versions of the 56-page "Environmental and Social Report 2007" and "Site Information" issued in September this year. "Site Information" is a PDF file describing environment-related data from 20 domestic and overseas production bases of Yokohama Rubber Group as well as from Yokohama Rubber Headquarters and Group companies in Japan. At the same time, the company newly opened this time an English website to introduce its environmental and social activities. In addition to news releases relating to environmental and social activities, this new website introduces a "YOKOHAMA Forever Forest" project that will create forests at domestic and overseas production bases of Yokohama Rubber Group by 2017 or the company’s 100th anniversary. With a planting ceremony at the Hiratsuka Factory in November 2007, the project started in full swing.

In the new medium-range management plan "Grand Design 100 (GD100)", which began in April 2006, Yokohama Rubber Group includes as one of its basic policies the manifestation of "world-class strengths in technologies for protecting the environment" and has been engaged in "Global Environmental Management" aimed at adopting consistent environmental management at all operations worldwide. In order to demonstrate its activities of this kind to global stakeholders, Yokohama Rubber plans to work harder for the enrichment of information tools.
